Capturing Isabella’s Baptism: A Rainy Yet Beautiful Day at Sankt Knud Lavard Catholic Church

At the beginning of April, a client reached out to me on social media. Their daughter, Isabella, was getting baptized in the last week of May, and they were looking for someone to photograph and film their special day. The assignment was simple: 1.5 hours of the baptism ceremony at Sankt Knud Lavard Catholic Church (located at Lyngbygårdsvej 1A, 2800 Kongens Lyngby), followed by 1 hour of lunch at Røde Port, a restaurant inside Bakken.

When the day arrived, it was unexpectedly raining in the morning. The sky was a bright grey—great for outdoor photoshoots—but since both locations required indoor shooting, I had to adjust my camera settings accordingly.

We arrived at the church at 09:32, and since the ceremony was scheduled for 10:00, I had plenty of time to prepare and scout the interior. I introduced myself to the priest and asked if there were any restricted areas or moments during the baptism that I shouldn’t photograph or film. He smiled and said, "You can go wherever you want and capture everything."

That’s when I felt a wave of relief and excitement. With complete creative freedom, I started shooting and recording, ready to document Isabella’s special day.
